CAPITAL at UK Local Authorities Day

On 28th November 2017, the CAPITAL project was at the Smarter Traffic Management Conference in Birmginham as part of the UK's Local Authorities Day.

Hosted by the UK’s Department of Transport (DfT) and the British Institute of Engineering Technology (BIET), the event brought together hundreds of local authorities from across the country to discuss the latest mobility innovations.

The British Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Roads, Local Transport and Devolution, Jesse Norman, opened the event and kicked off debates on how smarter traffic management can deliver better roads and services for local authorities.

After the morning debates, the local administrations separated into smaller workshops and looked at traffic technology barriers and innovations in procurement, smarter parking and connected & automated driving.

Representatives of the CAPITAL project met with a number of British local authorities and shared their experience and needs for C-ITS deployment, training and education so that the project can better design C-ITS courses.
